Gents, I am truly disppointed in the new bar. Whereas when you first opened on Gresham Street, the staff were friendly and drinks reasonably priced. Now, however, it appears that has all disappeared. Over priced drinks from sour, rather unfriendly staff (unless you know them of course) and then you're ignored whilst they chat. If I wanted that I would go to the Kremlin! The toilets too are absolutely disgusting and the dancfloor is like you'd have at a barn dance with that awful seating around the edge!!!! Overall the layout, cleanliness, quality of the DJ, customer service and ambiance of the place is not a patch on the old venue or your competitors (Muriels). I think you really need to have a rethink about what your customers want otherwise they will move on to somewhere and it would be a shame to see another bar close. Come on guys, buck up your ideas and give us somewhere where we WANT to go every week!

Was at the 'so called' new Dubarrys this weekend and it was bad, and I mean really bad. What happened guys? This use to be such a fantastic place. The toilets smell and the place is dirty. There is hardly a crowd anymore, maybe that has something to do with the straight DJs. The one on Friday night hasn't a clue about gay music scene and the one on Saturday must be deaf cos the music is that loud you can't even hear the music probably.

I'm afraid it's time for the customers to find a new venue. Anywhere is better than this.

great bar would recommend to all nice place to be, this makes the Union Street look like a very poor imitation.

Dubarrys is great , whether your in for a quick pint after work or a boogie on a friday night . Love the way they have Stevie doing the decks on a friday night . All in all one of the best gay bars in belast .

The facelift to the whole complex has worked wonders too . Recommended !

on gay pride, ridiculous that door staff made me queue to get back in after I went outside for smoke even though my friends were inside and I was only after buying a drink.....I had to queue for 15mins to get back inside to drink it - explain that!!!!

Great place. Can chill out over 3 floors , people and staff are friendly. They could do with a new dance DJ in the second floor who can play anything but 90's music!

Overall a great night from Friday - Sunday

Recomended

What a bar I think it would be good if the bar staff were not so horrible i was in recently and i can honestly say I have seen cows in the fields with better personal hygene. Place needs a good scrub bit like the staff although the beer is good out of the dirty glass poor efforts guys 2 out of 10

What a pit! Was in the bar just over a week ago on a Saturday nite and it was colder inside than it was outside. I asked the bar staff if the heat was on and they said the owner said it was. People were standing about with their coats on in all 3 floors. The guy who owns this place should catch a grip before he loses the crowd to venues where it's warmer.

Well a Good Bar Indeed Lads,The vodka Absolute Vodka Top Class(Unlike THE Union Bar Throwing Out Cheap Bora Vodka To Punters And Ripping Them Off)Lets Be Honest I went to union for first time and the bar man was very helpful and i would def go back,Talent Very Good Unlike union Bar Full of Screaming Hairdress'ers trying to be something, and as for talent well northern ireland have lot to catch up on when it comes to talent!!

Dubarrys is the most horrible gay bar I have ever visited. Very bad music, very bad service, disgusting toilets and unbelievably rude security guys acting like typical farmers with very low education. Wouldn't recommend this place at all and personaly never coming back again.

Dubarries continues to be a great gay Bar....Belfast (Gay) pride just finished and on sat night after the march it was a GREAT place to be. NO door charge / Resonsible friendly door staff making sure the place was not too packed, even if it meant we had to queue for a short while. NO broken glasses / clean toilets / great covered area outside. Good variety of music on 3 floors and Bar staff who must have been tired but who still managed to smile......Well Done to Owners and bar staff alike for leading the way to great Customer Satisfaction

Just had the most amazing weekend in Dubarry's. Friday nights are great with a good variation of tunes being played from current house, pop and dance to classic 70s, 80s and 90s, with the odd musical tune thrown in for good measure (Go Ms Striesand and Garland!). Steve the DJ isn't frighten to play tunes that may seem out of place in other venues, but he knows what will get the punters dancing and singing.

Saturdays are just as fantastic with DJ Spikes and the guys dancing on the bar. The night has a mainstream house vibe keeps everyone entertained. Only gripe is that sometimes it gets too packed on the middle floor and Decelan should open up the top floor.

Submitted by Pete (Derry) on 2nd February 2009

On a saturday night one of he best bars to go to, always have a good time, one disapointment is the bar staff found on the first floor, more interested in showing their dancing skills than serving customers, get it sorted guy's. Overall a good setting, the rest of the bar staff are brilliant and very efficent, the dj is top drawer and the prices very resonable, a guaranteed hit for everyone.

GAY BAR ??? I ASK YOU, IF I HAD A STRAIGHT BAR WOULD SOME PEOPLE NOT BE UP IN ARMS, GET IT SORTED, YOU WANT EQUAL RIGHTS BUT ONLY FOR SOME ?

ALL SOUNDS A BIT ANIMAL FARM TO ME.

Atlast a decent gay bar in Belfast!

Good beer, good staff, and a good clientelle..

Lets have some food!!

If you dont like aloof, twinky gay bars, that rip off cutomers the the Kremlin complex. That is; no beer on draught,,,, GO TO DUBARRYS.

THE BEST GAY BAR IN TOWN!

Stephen

Submitted by Stephen Co Antrim on 26th August 2008

originally aimed at an older male crowd but the twinks and straight girls are creeping in which is a very off putting. Hope they don't go the same way as The Parliament / Kremlin, get greedy

A great new bar with a pleasant atmosphere and freindly staff well done Declan and lots of luck for the future

A lovely bar. The draught lager was exceptional, the staff, delightful and I cannot comment on the clientele as it was very quiet when I went although it was early afternoon on a Thursday so I didn't expect a Mardi Gras!

Personal circumstances have precluded a return visit as of yet but I will be back, as soon as I can. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Submitted by thumpetythump on 29th February 2008

Fantastic bar, great atmosphere, great drink, very reasonably priced, plus the best draught erdinger in town ;).

All the staff are really friendly and the boss is just fab!

Submitted by Matty on 14th February 2008

great bar great staff what more can i say oh yeah great decor and as some people have mentioned more seats are need at the bar to add that finishing touch of class.

no really screaming queen in the bar thank goodness just the sort of down to earth people. needs more atmosphere to liven it up a bit

Submitted by michael, belfast on 28th May 2007

Nice looking bar on all 3 floors but the ground floor one feels a bit waiting room-ish with people sitting about not quite sure what direction to look in so as not to make eye contact.Def more seats needed on all 3 levels however there doesnt seem to be the space,a nice touch is the unisex toilets. All in all not a bad place for a pint.far better than the nest but not just as good as union st yet but that could maybe change as time goes on.

Submitted by gayguy on 26th March 2007

nice bar, friendly staff, clientelle a bit offputting. Again started out a nice bar, but turning into bar over run with screaming queens

Submitted on 30th December 2006

Dubarry's is a welcome addition to Belfast gay scene. Offers an alternative to the Nest and Union Street.

Give it a couple of months and I am sure that the crowds will start to come in greater numbers.

Submitted on 6th October 2006

thought this might have brought a bit of fresh air , so we decided to give it a go.

wot a dump in a dumpish area the guy who invested in this needs his head examined!!!! i predict bankrupt within 6 months

Submitted on 30th September 2006

Nice inside, they obviously made an effort with the decor friendly staff, no screaming drag queens or earsplittingly loud cheesy pop, needs a few more punters and I would hope it will be a sucess. Check it out.

Submitted on 29th September 2006
