The Globe Bar (formely called the Elms) is a popular student bar situated mid-way between the The Botanic Inn / Eg Bar and Shaftesbury Square.
The Globe has plenty of Plasma TV's which allow good viewing football matches and there's food served during the day. Occasional drinks offers for football matches.
It is also renowned for it's karaoke competitions which seem to be taking place every night of the week!

Decent place to go on Saturday nites. Bouncers are sweet, no bother at all with them like. Cant really complain about the place like, it has give me no bother.

No craic, dead atmosphere and expensive lager. Not a good comcbination. The Staff and folks at the door where easy to deal with but there is no point in hiding the fact the actual bar is a dive. However on Saturday afternoons they have a huge screen which is great for watching the footie if you can get a good seat.

AVOID!! I used to go hear when I was about 19 for the yummy and cheap jugs of Sex On The Beach cocktails. I'm now 26 and went in once for a drink before going to a restaurant. There was a hen party and a stripper. Enough said.

Its plain an simple, the globe on the weekend is usually full of 'The wrong type of people' who couldnt get in elsewhere in the town as the bouncers didnt like the look of them. I end up there now and again if im in the company of someone whos a little 2 drunk to get into a better establishment but i swear to god i hate the place with a passion. Its not bad during the week, not bad at all but at the weekend the place is just a waste of time.

I used to go here most friday nights and loved it. Recently it has gone so downhill! Crowds getting worse and worse and the fights afterwards are disgraceful!

bit full of the wrong crowd, sort of full of m club and union and parlour left overs, people who couldnt get in anywhere else... best avoided!
